Christmas Traditions: Winners and Wannabes

I love having Christmas traditions to help us celebrate this time of year. Some traditions we consistently stick with while others fall flat and I end up accepting defeat. I thought it would be fun to round up my top 3 favorites and top 3 flops.

Christmas Winners:

  1. We open one gift on Christmas Eve, and they are always pajamas.

  2. We leave out cookies and milk for Santa. Shocking, I know. This year I’m also planning on adding a little treat for Santa’s reindeer with this easy recipe

  3. On Christmas morning before we open presents we open the Bible to Luke 2 and read about the birth of Jesus. He is the greatest gift of all. If you are interested in getting your child a Bible I recommend this one.

Christmas Wannabes:

  1. Shepherd on the Search and Elf on the Shelf. For the past three years I’ve tried to do both. One’s searching for Jesus while the other is reporting to Santa. Confused? Yeah, me too. And guess what, my girls are interested in NONE of it. Probably because I stink at both. Neither doll has moved in 4 days because I can't keep up with all the things!

  2. Family Christmas card. It’s true. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve sent out a Christmas card. I promise if you haven’t gotten one from us it’s not because we crossed you off our list. This is as close as it’s going to get because I’m #alwaysdoingtheleast:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Love,

Jon, Anna, Jadyn, & Zoe

3. Visit Santa. I always think that we will get around to visiting Santa and it just doesn’t happen…unless we happen to luck out. We ran into him once at the department store’s perfume counter so I snapped these pictures. This counts right?

No matter what traditions you do or don’t do, may this time of year bring memories that last a lifetime.
